A friend of mine wanted a cake for her granddaughter’s birthday, and she asked me for a cake incorporating Noddy. I looked on the web for ideas and asked her if a Noddy car would be ok, she was thrilled so I set out and started to make the Noddy car.
I colored some fondant in yellow, red, blue, and a small amount in grey. I molded the shape of the car in yellow and then made the wheels and the red trims, made two lights for the front of the car and a wheel for the back of the car. I then left this overnight to harden before attaching Noddy in the car. The next day I made Noddy’s body in red and attached a yellow scarf before attaching the head. I then made the hat and the bell on the hat. I also made a steering wheel and then I attached a small piece of wire to resemble the window. I set this aside while the cake was being made.
I made a vanilla sponge and filled with butter cream and jam. When cool I covered it in white fondant. I then cut out a large circle in dark grey for the road and attached this to the top of the cake. I then attached the car and then cut out small yellow flowers and attached these around the top edge of the cake and I placed a small pearl bead into each flower. I then cut out large pink flowers and yellow circles and attached these all around the side of the cake. I then covered the cake board in pink and attached the name to it and finally pipe iced around the base of the cake.
