Coolest Zebra Print Cake

This Zebra Print Cake was made for a very special young lady celebrating her 10th birthday. At the age of 3 she was diagnosed with a bone cancer called Neuroblastoma. Needless to say she has undergone many treatments and surgeries including tumor removal and gall bladder surgery.  She has endured stem cell transplants and antibody treatments. Her story is one faith and hope…and everyone continues to marvel at what God is doing in her life.  With all that she has endured she always has a smile on her face and a glow about her that makes you want to make her every wish come true.

Well, this birthday cake was one of those wishes. As she now enters double digits by turning 10, she simply requested a zebra print cake and hot pink. This is a yellow sheet cake covered in a crisp white butter cream.  The zebra prints are made from homemade marshmallow fondant. These are cut free hand for a very natural look. Using a small fondant cutter wheel simply cut out different shapes and sizes and apply them to the cake in random order. The shell border is made in the hot pink butter cream and lettering is in hot pink fondant.
