My friends favorite cake recipe was called a hummingbird cake. I never heard of it but found a receipe and made it for her. I kept it simple and didn’t put fondant on it. Instead I made flowers and a hummingbird out of gumpaste to sit on the top of the cake. I shaped the gumpaste and painted it. I put pecans on the side and a little on the top of the cake where the hummingbird is sitting. I never tasted a hummingbird cake before but I must admit, it is good!
