Coolest Monster Truck Birthday Cake

We began by covering the plywood board with checkered contact paper.  The cakes were white almond sour cream, a 1/2 sheet cake and a 9 x 5 loaf for the walls and ramps.  The tires were made from chocolate doughnuts.  I bought beat up old cars at the flea market and dented them some more for the derby cars.  All the signs were made from my edible printer on sugar sheets, then glued on fondant to stand out against the darker butter cream icing. Found them from various sites on the internet and just cut and pasted to print.

The glue we used was made from a small amount of gum paste in water. The grass was made using a Wilton grass tip.  Oreo crushed cookies were used for the tire marks and tread.  It was taken to a public place for the party and even children and parents from other groups kept coming over and oohing and aahing.  Needles to say the birthday boy and his parents were extremely happy.
